Rabun Gap - Nacoochee School (RGNS) was established in 1903. It is spread in 1400 acres of land. It is one of the most beautiful and historic college-preparatory boarding schools in the country. The Institute's educational program and the Industrial School's practical curriculum combined to offer a comprehensive education for the young people of the area. The students become much more independent and become responsible.

There are 6 residence halls which act a home for boarding students. These halls have computer rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, vending machines, and common areas. The hostel life includes planned weekends activities. It allows girls and boys to learn side-by-side in a friendly atmosphere. The total number of teaching faculty is 56. They also plays role of coaches, advisors, chaperones and friends.

The teaching methodology adopted by them helps students in achieving life-long learning. The students also participate in farm and maintenance work. It helps the students in developing outdoor skills. It also provides various sports and club facilities.
